Local Brewery Caters To Those Not Looking For Love
Great Basin Brewing Company to Host Stupid Cupid Night at Taps & Tanks
RENO, Nev. (February 11, 2013) – In an effort to serve the entire community, and not just those in happy, healthy (and oh so boring!) relationships, Great Basin Brewing Company will host Stupid Cupid Night on February 14, 2013 at their Taps & Tanks location. The event will feature specialty brews including: Lost Lust Lager, Alimony Ale, Single Stout, Hex-On-My-Ex Brew, and more; as well as a $12 Comfort Food Buffet, featuring Chile Verde or Stout Stew, served with Salad and Broken Heart Happy Ending Cookies for dessert.
"Valentine’s Day leaves many people ex-cluded,” said Don Darue, marketing director of Great Basin Brewing Company. “Every year, we see the bachelors, the single gals, the loners, or the just plain un-romantic couples—aimlessly roaming the streets on February 14th—irritated, confused and dejected. It’s heartbreaking. We’d like to welcome them; give them somewhere to go; provide them an opportunity to make new friends and drink some really phenomenal brews.”
The evening’s festivities will include songs of bitterness and spite, dartboard games (where patrons are encouraged to bring photos of their ex), and shared experiences of love gone awry.
Stupid Cupid Night
Thursday, February 14
3pm – 9pm
Great Basin Taps & Tanks
(on East McCarran between Rock Blvd. and Mira Loma in Reno)
The brewery is also happy to serve the smootchie-sweetie-chocolate-covered-will-you-be-mine Valentine’s Day crowd, and will host Valentine’s Day at both Brewpub locations in Sparks and Reno. Lovers can enjoy the infamous Death-by-Chocolate Stout, a luscious chocolate brew, or Liplock Lager, a crisp raspberry and marionberry-infused “get-you-in-the-mood” kind of beer, both brewed especially for the occasion, and supremely decadent when mixed together. A special menu will be served starting at 4pm on February 14, 2013, featuring Prime Rib, Shrimp Etouffée, or Chicken Carbonara, accompanied by Crème Brulée for dessert.
