Great Basin Brewing Company Releases A Variety Of Bottled Brews

RENO, Nev. (December 10, 2014) – Great Basin Brewing Company has spent the year crafting a record-setting number of new brews. Now, as the year comes to a close, they’ve saved a number of surprises for the end. This holiday season, Great Basin is giving craft beer enthusiasts four unique and imaginative brews to enjoy.
“2014 has been a truly incredible year for Great Basin,” owner and brewmaster Tom Young said. “We couldn’t have done it without our fans, and we wanted to say thank you by giving them a number of craft beers for Christmas.”

Great Basin Beer Releases:

Deathwish
This American style pale ale combines sweet caramel and toasty malt flavor with a backbone of tasty hop bitterness and pungent citrus hop aroma. Pouring with a gently hazy golden to light copper body. It gives off aromas of pine & spice, with herbal and grapefruit citrus. On the palette, it’s hop-forward with roasted caramel & biscuit flavors with accents of herbal, floral, spicy & citrus hops. A collaboration with Moment Ski Company of Reno, NV. Available now on tap and in 22 oz. bottles in select stores and at both brewpubs.

2014 Mayan Maybe Not
First brewed to celebrate the end of the Mayan calendar in 2012, this beer marries ingredients the Mayans cultivated – chocolate, jalapeño & habanero chiles, vanilla, honey, & maize with subtly-smoked malts. This brew pours a dark brown body with ruby highlights. It features aromas of chocolate, chilies, sweet caramel, and vanilla. On the palette, flavors of bittersweet chocolate, dark malts, and spicy peppers with a hint of smokiness. Available now on tap and in 22 oz. bottles in select stores and at both brewpubs.

2014 Holiday Wassail Red Nose Ale
First brewed in 1993, Great Basin’s Red-Nose Holiday Wassail has kept its base recipe each year – sweet, malt-forward with a biscuity finish – while the spices continue to change year after year. This year we’ve included honey, coriander, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, allspice, orange peel, chamomile, woodruff, heather tips, elderflowers, maple, and vanilla. Each of the very limited (only 300) 22 oz. hand-filled bottles is personally signed by Great Basin’s Brewmaster & Owner Tom Young. Available now on tap and in 22 oz. bottles at both brewpubs.

Mt. Rose 50th Anniversary ”First Chair” Ale
To commemorate their 50th Anniversary, Mt. Rose Ski-Tahoe has partnered with Great Basin Brewing Company to brew a limited-edition Belgian-Style White IPA. Featuring fruity hops with notes of tangelo, pineapple, and other tropical fruits upfront and a slightly bitter-sweet Belgian Witbier base. This unique beer will be served on-tap only at Great Basin brewpubs and Mt. Rose Ski-Tahoe beginning December 20th, 2014.

Each craft beer will be released as limited editions and available in limited quantities. Fans are encouraged to get them while they last. A list of current beers on tap at Great Basin can be found at greatbasinbrewingco.com.
